What is a zine?
A zine can be loosely defined as an underground publication that is independently produced and self-published, typically photocopied. People make zines out if a desire to share stories, knowledge, thoughts, opinions, and experiences. Zines are made for love, not for profit.
What is the Papercut Zine Library?
The Papercut Zine Library is a fully functioning lending library. We have over 7,000 zines, independent newspapers, books, magazines, and audio/visual works. The library is run by a non-hierarchical collective of volunteers.
Can I become a member?
Yes, membership is free and open to all. Come by the library to sign up.
When can I drop by?
Check the hours page to see when we're open. Hours are posted here and outside the library around the first of every month.
How can I get involved?
We are always looking for new librarians or volunteers to help out. Librarian meetings are Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the library; come by to learn more about the librarian training process, or what volunteer opportunities we might have available.
How can I donate zines to the library?
Donations are our bread and butter! You can drop the zines off at the library. If the library is closed, you can just slip them through the mail slot out front. You can also mail us your donations:
